Position Summary
Essential Functions
Ability to participate in daily safety meetings, JSA’s and audits Ability to cooperate with superintendents, foreman, supervisors in the shop, and coworkers Ability to maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition and cooperates with other departments in housekeeping endeavors Responsible for relaying appropriate information to foreman Carries tools and equipment to job site Measure, reads blueprints, must be able to use square, measuring tape and ruler Cuts materials to required dimensions Cleans up work area when job is completed and returns materials and equipment to appropriate location Attaches slings or cables to objects requiring lifting Bolts or unbolts assemblies using wrenches, screwdrivers, and prying bars May install packing’s, catalysts, and desiccants in vessels Ability to cut, bevel, and grind Perform daily maintenance and safety checks Ensure compliance of all safety procedures and policies while promoting company’s safety culture Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required At least 3 years’ experience as a helper Ability to pass an HMC written craft test
Required Skills
Working knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings Excellent verbal and written communication skills Exercise discretion and independent judgement when handling day to day information Excellent time-management skills to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and adjust to changing priorities Ability to work cooperatively across all levels delivering on commitments – results oriented Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to work under pressure to meet department targets and deadlines Ability to work non-routine hours, when necessary Ability and willingness to travel as required
