Lita Ramirez, Dani Flores, and Elizabeth Murry represented Bay Ltd at the 2023 inaugural Coastal Bend Women in Industry Conference - "This One’s for the Gals!" 

The conference was open female high school students to introduce to career opportunities in the energy, construction and manufacturing industries. 

Over 200 students were in attendance, sponsored by local companies including Bay Ltd, Steel Dynamics, Voestalpine, Chemours, Cheniere, Kiewit, Airforce Turbine, GCGV, and many others. 

The activities included a group of key note speakers from various companies and industries discussing their careers and a Q & A with the students. The students also had the opportunity to visit stations set up  to meet representatives from local companies sponsoring the event and learn about career opportunities. 

Stephanie Hajucek, who works for Steel Dynamics, was the catalyst to the cooperation of the companies and districts integral to the success of the event. “There’s so much industry coming in, it’s going to continue to grow. There are going to be more jobs as the years go by. Why not start preparing now?” Stephanie Hajducek said." “The companies sponsoring them is showing them the companies are supporting this effort, and that’s them saying, ‘hey, we’ve got a spot for you, and we want you to know that this is important to us,’” Hajducek said. “Just getting these girls to the conference, and broadening their horizons, hopefully, it will get them a little more interested in these sorts of positions at these companies.”
